Haigh Lyon was established in 1926 when Frank Haigh,
already with a reputation for advocating the cause
of the 'common man", commenced practice in Dilworth
Building. This reputation has been maintained over
the years.
David's practice is based on personal clients
and families for whom he has acted for
over three and occasionally four generations.
Being a husband for 43 years, father of three and a very proud grandfather, nothing gives David more pleasure than being able to help the whole family particularly in the fields of conveyancing, trusts, wills, estates and commercial law. He has a strong genuine interest in the business and personal affairs of clients.
David attended Cornwall Park and Meadowbank Primary Schools and then Auckland Grammar School. He began work as a law clerk with Reyburn McArthur and Boyes in January 1957 and as a part time law student at the University of Auckland in March that year.
He completed his LLB in December 1961, was admitted to the Bar on 29 March 1962 and to partnership in what became Reyburn McArthur Boyes and Lyon on 1 April 1962.
Having left his old firm, David joined Frank and John Haigh on 1st June 1978 and the firm name then became Haigh Lyon.
David's interest in people, his depth of experience, common sense, friendly and positive approach to work and life has led to his developing a large and loyal client base.
